A man is murdered by what we think are killer butterflies, (no really) at Massive Dynamic and Peter, Walter and Olivia discover a bizarre cause of death. Olivia returns to and becomes addicted to the dunk tank; there, she can access John's memories to help solve the man's death. Peter's former girlfriend returns to warn him about people who want to "hurt him." Nina continues to be shady, and Broyles protects her. Critical Myth
The irony of this episode is that its main revelation is something that most fans have probably already assumed. As such, the impact of the episode might have been lost completely as a result.

That revelation is the contention that Massive Dynamic is not only profiting off the results of the experiments collectively known as The Pattern, but that they are directly behind those experiments. It’s certainly not a new thought, since it’s a fairly obvious supposition, but the characters weren’t quite there yet. This brings Agent Dunham to the same suspicions as much of the audience. So what does an extra-long episode of Fringe look like? Well, sort of like a regular episode, although bloated. Only fitting to show such an episode just before Thanksgiving, really. This week’s outing could be compared to your Uncle Ted about an hour after ingesting his body weight in cranberry sauce: not exactly the shining example of “the more, the merrier.” While individual elements were interesting, tonight’s episode showed that sometimes less is indeed more.
